ARTISAN CARE

Stem Adjustment:

All Glyph Artisan stems are checked for proper fit prior to shipping, however they may need to be adjusted slightly depending on the switch you intend to use. This can be done easily with a gentle hand and common household tools.

To loosen the stem, take a medium-sized flathead screwdriver and insert it between two halves of the stem. Press down and gently wiggle it back and forth. Rotate 90 degrees and repeat.

To tighten the stem, use a small pair of pliers to gently squeeze two opposite corners toward one another. Repeat with the other two corners. You may also use a small piece of tape or cling wrap between the switch and the artisan for a more temporary fix.

In both cases you should use less force than you think you need. Repeat the process multiple times if needed, always with a gentle hand.

Adjusting your 2u keycaps:

Situating your 2u artisans on your board can take a bit more patience than your 1u artisans. You may need to wiggle the keycap back and forth a little to make sure that it's properly situated on your stabilizers. If it feels extra wiggly, double check to make sure that both ends are seated properly and don't need to be tightened.

If you have a hotswap board and are having trouble getting your artisan properly fitted, take a moment to remove the switch from your board and fit the keycap to the stabilizers only. This will allow you to truly feel if the stab-side stems need to be adjusted without the switch getting in the way. Then remove your artisan, check the fit of the center stem on the loose switch, then put everything back together.

Metal Care:

Your artisan has been sealed with a gentle microcrystalline wax, however it is still prone to the elements. Damp air and the skin's natural oils can cause tarnishing over time.  All artisans come with a polishing cloth impregnated with a gentle polishing compound, which will remove fingerprints and tarnish. Store artisans in a dry place when not in use. The provided box has anti-tarnishing properties and is an ideal place for storage or display.

Some artisans, such as the Little Library artisans, are partially oxidized during the finishing process. Be mindful when polishing these areas to avoid removing this finish.

Resin Care:

You may use the provided polishing cloth or a clean microfiber cloth to gently wipe the surface free of dirt and dust. To avoid scratches, more passes with a gentle hand is best. Do not use cleaning solutions such as rubbing alcohol. Do not submerge any artisans with resin infill under water. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.

Mood Ring Artisans:

The above resin care guidelines also apply to the Mood Ring artisans. These are made with a layer of thermoreactive paint sealed under resin--prolonged exposure to water may cause the mood ring properties to fail.
