Description
A mixed-metal ring featuring a brass reproduction of a Victorian-era wax seal in a silver setting. Pictographs were highly popular in this time, and this seal depicts an eye and a quill above the word "truth," to read I Write Truth. The seal measures ~12mm and is set into a .999 fine silver bezel setting on a .925 sterling silver band that has been hand carved to resemble hammered metal or stone. (Please note that the final close-up photo shows a ring with a different style band and is meant to show the detail on the wax seal only. The other photos show the exact piece you will receive).
The original antique seal comes from my personal collection, and I molded and reproduced it to be able to share its history with you. The 4mm thick, half round band was hand carved and cast in sterling silver, and the bezel setting was hand fabricated. I like to think of this as a form of collage, which allows me to breathe new life into old, often broken antiques--not only revitalizing something that may otherwise have been trashed, but also transforming it into something uniquely my own.
A note about wax seals: All of my wax seal rings are fully functional and safe to use in wax! However, please bear in mind that these pieces are molded from originals that were carved in the Victorian Era (1837-1901). Natural wear has occurred in many of these pieces, which may be apparent in the wax impression. I view this as a record of their long and storied pasts, which only adds to their character and charm. This seal is one of the best preserved in my collection, and despite showing some age, it makes a clear imprint in wax.

RING SIZE INFO
Please measure your finger carefully before purchasing. The best way to learn your ring size is to have your fingers sized at a jewelry shop. Remember that all your fingers are different sizes, so it's best to decide which finger you'd like to wear your rings on ahead of time!
If you are unable to have your fingers sized by a professional, plastic adjustable ring sizers are available for a couple of bucks online (just type the phrase "adjustable ring sizer" into your favorite search engine). Please be mindful of apps that measure your ring size by placing your finger or a ring on top of your phone. While these methods can work, there's a lot of room for error. Whenever possible, try to physically measure your finger.

All of my jewelry is fabricated, cast and finished by hand and as such will come with minor cosmetic variations that makes it special and unique to the user. Photos have been taken to represent each piece as accurately as possible, and have been edited only to remove background dust. No edits to the jewelry itself have been made. In the case of Ready to Ship items, you will receive the exact item that you see in photos. In the case of Made to Order/Pre-order items, your exact item will be made after you place your order.
