Description
This shield was molded from a dead stock banded agate gemstone, a shape that was commonly used in Victorian-era jewelry. I wanted to take this iconic traditional shape and give it a contemporary feel. I distressed these pieces by hand carving directly into the metal as well as by fusing silver dust to the backside to create additional texture. I finished these by oxidizing the recesses to add a rugged feel and bring out the detail. Each one is unique.

All of my jewelry is fabricated, cast and finished by hand and as such will come with minor cosmetic variations that make it special and unique to the user.
